Messages and email

Talk to creators without leaving Influgest: Instagram direct messages and your corporate inbox, each in its own place and with the creator's context right beside it.

Two channels, two inboxes

SectionWhat it isWhen to use it
CommunicationsThe inbox for Instagram direct messages between your agency and your contacts.First contact, quick conversations, informal follow-up.
EmailsYour corporate inbox, built into the app.Formal proposals, sending documents, anything that needs attachments.

Both are connected from Settings → Integrations, and both keep working in their original app: Influgest doesn't replace your email, it brings it to where the creator's data lives.

Instagram direct messages

Connecting the account

The first time you go into Communications without a linked account, the app asks you to with the Connect your Instagram account notice: you need to link it to receive and reply to direct messages from Influgest. There are two buttons, Not now and Go to integrations; the connection is finished in Settings → Integrations.

The inbox

The screen is split into three columns:

  • Conversations: the list, with the Search the inbox… search box, the All, Influencers, Agencies and Brands segments, and the Active, Waiting, Spam and Resolved groups. Each row shows the avatar, the name, the time, a preview of the last message and the number of unread messages.
  • The thread: the conversation in real time. New messages come in on their own, without reloading the page.
  • Contact details: a collapsible panel on the right with what you know about that person and a Notes tab for your team's internal jottings (Add an internal note…).

Replying

Type in the Type a message… box and press Enter to send; Shift + Enter adds a line break. If something goes wrong, you'll see Couldn't send the message and you'll be able to try again.

Checking the profile from the conversation

In the details panel, the Load profile action pulls in the contact's public data — followers, posts, engagement, average likes and comments, whether the account is verified, and their collaborations. The interface warns you that it uses one credit of data, and there's a daily report limit: when you hit it you'll see You've reached the daily report limit.

In progressInside Communications, the list's Filters button and the composer's formatting and suggestion options don't do anything yet. Sorting conversations into Waiting, Spam and Resolved can't be done by hand yet either.

Your inbox

Connecting the inbox

Going into Emails without a linked inbox brings up Connect your corporate email: to send and receive emails from Influgest you need to link your inbox, choosing your provider and finishing the setup in Settings → Integrations. Picking one takes you to Settings with that option already selected.

Reading

The inbox lists the threads with sender, subject, a preview of the message and the time, and keeps an unread counter. When you open a thread, its messages are marked as read automatically. The content is shown exactly as it arrived, with links opening in a new tab. Attachments appear as tags with their name and size: one click downloads them.

The Inbox and Sent folders are the ones working today.

Writing and replying

The New email button opens a floating composer in the bottom-right corner, which you can minimise by double-clicking its header. It has the To, CC, Subject fields and the message body; for several recipients, separate them with commas.

  • Attachments: you can select several files at once and remove any of them before sending.
  • Replying: inside a thread, the Reply action opens the composer with the subject and the recipient already filled in, and your reply stays in the same thread.
  • Writing from another screen: from a talent's profile, the message action takes you to email with the composer open and the recipient loaded.

If the recipient or the body is missing, you'll see Write a message and a recipient before sending. When it goes out correctly, Email sent.

In progressThe Drafts, Archive and Spam folders are marked as coming soon and can't be opened. The sidebar labels, Save draft, assisted text suggestions, the quick reply at the foot of the thread and Mark all as read aren't working either.

Connection health

Both integrations keep an eye on themselves. If something stops working — an expired session, a password change, a revoked permission — Influgest tells you, so you don't have to find out from a message that never arrived:

NoticeWhat it meansWhat to do
Your Instagram account needs attentionThe linked account has stopped responding properly.Link it again from Go to Settings →.
Your inbox needs attentionThere's a problem with your email connection, usually with the credentials.Check the connection in Settings.

Neither notice blocks you: you can carry on reading what has already been downloaded while you fix the connection. What won't come through are the new messages, so it's worth sorting out promptly.

Platform notifications

The bell in the header and the Notifications screen are designed to gather every account update — messages, metrics, payments, assignments, calendar and system — with the All, Unread and Read tabs.

In progressThis screen still shows sample content: it isn't wired to your account's real events, so don't treat it as a source of truth.

The alerts that do work today are the automatic emails from working with creators: your agency gets an email when a creator uploads a proposal, and the creator gets one when you ask for changes or approve a piece. They're explained in Creator portal.

A typical flow

  1. 1

    Connect the channels once

Link your Instagram account and your inbox from Settings → Integrations.
  2. 2

Break the ice with a direct message

Write to the creator from Communications and, if you need context, load their profile in the details panel.
  3. 3

    Make it official by email

Send the proposal with its documents from Emails, or invite them straight to the campaign from Inviting to a campaign.
  4. 4

Leave a record for your team

Note down what was agreed in the contact's Notes so whoever picks up the conversation knows where you left off.
